Kearney attends training



Shalonda Kearney, the YWCA Crisis Center’s court advocate, attended a training institute through the National Center for Victims of Crime (NCVC) Oct. 6 at OSU-Tulsa Conference Center.

Ropp joins Carter



Carter HealthCare and Hospice has hired Marci Ropp, RN, BSN. She graduated from Southwestern College, Winfield, Kan., in 2008 with a bachelor of science degree in nursing.

Waken awarded designation



Brad Waken, broker for Waken and Co. Real Estate, was awarded the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation by the CCIM Institute, one of the leading commercial real estate associations in the world.

The designation was awarded in late August following examinations held in Chicago.

Waken was among the 199 commercial real estate professionals from across the nation who earned the designation by passing the Institute’s comprehensive examination, the final component in the designation process.

The CCIM designation is awarded to commercial real estate professionals upon successful completion of over 200 hours of graduate-level education curriculum, a presentation of a portfolio of qualifying industry experience and the completion of the six hour comprehensive examination. The curriculum addresses financial analysis, market analysis, user decision analysis, investment analysis and advanced negotiation techniques – the cornerstones of commercial investment real estate. CCIMs are recognized experts in commercial real estate brokerage, leasing, asset management, valuation and investment analysis.

Waken specializes in commercial real estate and property management. He currently manages 400,000 square feet of retail shopping centers, offices and stand alone facilities.
