Willeford joins TPI Staffing Service



Marina Willeford has joined TPI Staffing Service as marketing representative.

A native of Hattiesburg, Miss., Willeford said she is excited to be part of the only full-service staffing solution company in Enid. In 1993, she relocated to Enid after serving 13 years as an administrative liaison for Forrest General Hospital.

She began her marketing career in July 2000 as marketing director for Laser Vision Centers, St. Louis, Mo. As marketing director, Willeford was responsible for developing the market in northwest Oklahoma for physicians at Enid Eye Clinic.

She attended the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg and Northern Oklahoma College and Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Enid.

She is married to Craig Willeford, who has been a medical technologist in the laboratory of St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center for 25 years. He also is owner/instructor of Dragon Kim’s Enid Academy of Tae kwon do since 1987. They have two daughters, Elizabeth and Alexandra.

YWCAreps attend NCADVconference



Tricia Mitchell and Dena Patterson of the Enid YWCA attended the 13th Annual National Coalition Against Domestic Violence (NCADV) Conference in Washington, D.C., July 20-23.

The conference brought together members of state coalitions from across the country to share promising practices and emerging issues in domestic violence. The theme of the conference was “Building Grassroots Leadership for Social Justice.” The conference also celebrated the 30th anniversary of the NCADV.

The conference included nationally renowned speakers and many networking opportunities with other domestic violence agencies. Attendees at the conference had the opportunity to participate in a numerous sessions with a variety of topics, including fostering relationships in rural communities, grassroots approach to fundraising, religious values and social justice, maintaining safety and security in a digital age, child protection, safe visitation services and the effectiveness of differentiated treatments for offenders.

“The conference provided valuable information about issues we deal with on a daily basis and it was a great opportunity to network with other agencies across the county,” said Mitchell, women’s services director at Enid’s YWCA.

As a state anti-domestic violence agency, Enid’s YWCA staff members also helped represent the Oklahoma Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault, a member of NCADV.



Surgery assistants complete course



Three maxillofacial surgery assistants for Dr. Curtis J. Bowman recently completed the AAOMS Oral and Maxillofacial Anesthesia Assistants Program. Completing the program and taking the final certification exam were Shelly Patterson, Katie Kittel and Penny Swanner.

The program consists of a six-month training course covering preoperative patient evaluation, pharmacology, emergency medical drugs, EKG interpretation and intra-operative monitoring.

The certification exam was taken in Oklahoma City.



Amos graduates as ag consultant



Flower Mound, Texas — Roy Amos of Warren Caterpillar, in Enid, became one of the few equipment salespeople in the country to graduate as an ag equipment consultant from International Ag University’s unique sales program.

Ag equipment consultants are the new generation of professionals who will help farmers develop strategies for acquiring farm equipment and who will define how farm equipment is sold in the future.

Amos went through a rigorous three-year training program while working as a salesperson at his dealership. He attended three two-day sales training sessions each year, extensive product training and had to complete several behavioral exercises after each class. His sales manager/dealer principal and entire dealership supported him throughout.



Pearce named SNBEmployee of Quarter



Erica Pearce has been named Security National Bank of Enid’s Employee of the Quarter for the second quarter of this year.

Pearce has been with Security National Bank since February 2007 and was hired as teller. She now is customer service representative.

“Erica has been an exemplary employee. Her enthusiasm and willingness to step in whenever needed makes her a great addition to our team here at SNB,” said President Brad Blankenship.

Pearce is a 2004 graduate of Enid High School and attended Southwestern Oklahoma State University for two years on a full academic scholarship.
