Bland-Selix selected to lead Shopper’s Edge

Enid businesswoman Lisa Bland-Selix will be the new publisher of Shopper’s Edge effective Monday. She will lead all personnel and operations of the weekly publication, which is based at 122 W. Garriott and serves residents of 14 counties in north-central and northwest Oklahoma and southern Kansas.

“I am looking forward to the challenges of motivating and managing a team of individuals working toward the common goal of providing a quality shopper for the folks in Enid and northwest Oklahoma,” Bland-Selix said.

Since November 2006, Bland-Selix has been an advertising account executive at the Enid News & Eagle. Prior to her newspaper work, she had been with US Cellular in Enid for nearly three years, first as a retail wireless consultant and then as Enid sales manager.

A native of Enid, Bland-Selix also has been active as a professional photographer. She ran a business specializing in weddings, portraits and commercial photography from 1982 to 2004. She also was assistant manager of Cliff’s Camera and Video from 1980 to 1990 and again in 1997-98. She was a digital imaging specialist at Vance Air Force Base from 1998 through 2001.

Bland-Selix earned her bachelor’s degree in E-commerce from North-western Oklahoma State University in Enid, where she minored in mass communications and completed internships in print and broadcast media. She earned a master’s of business administration in marketing from the University of Phoenix.

She and her husband, Mark Selix, have three children and one grandson.
