Young Team receives
RE/MAX award
Gary Young and The Young Team earned the RE/-MAX 100 Percent Club award presented at Okla-homa Awards Cele-bration in Okla-homa City Feb. 4.
Yo-ung is an associate with RE/-MAX Premier, Realtors in Enid. The award represents gross income for 2007. As team leader, Young was named in the overall Top 100 RE/-MAX Asso-ciates in Okla-homa, which reflects team and individual cumulative highest commissions.
Young has been in the real estate business since 1973, founding the local RE/MAX office in 1995. Other team members are Courtney Colby, Thom Cunningham, Amber Slater and Lori Valles.
Allstate agent Burrows
honored for service
Allstate agent David Burrows received the Agency Hands in the Community award for his commitment to helping others in his area.
With this award comes a $500 grant from The Allstate Foundation for Denny Price Family YMCA, where Burrows volunteers.
“Allstate is proud to help Denny Price Family YMCA with its cause,” said Denis Bailey, field vice president for Allstate’s Southwest region. “The grant from The Allstate Foundation will provide much needed assistance for its efforts. We believe in supporting programs to strengthen the communities where we live and work.”
Through the Agency Hands in the Community grant program, Allstate agents and personal financial representatives are recognized for commitment to community service.
The Allstate Foundation gave $78,000 throughout the region in 2007 through the Agency Hands in the Community grant program

Crisis Center employees
attend conference
YWCA Enid Crisis Center employees Tricia Mitchell and Dena Patterson recently attended the International Conference on Sexual Assault, Domestic Violence and Stalking March 31-April 2 in New Orleans.
Presented by End Violence Against Women International and the Office for Victims of Crime, the purpose of the conference is to provide victim-centered, multi-disciplinary training and consultation regarding crimes of sexual assault and domestic violence. The conference also provides an opportunity to identify primary prevention programs for men and risk reduction programs for women.
Collaborating agencies at the conference were Louisiana Foundation Against Sexual Assault, National Center for Women and Policing, International Association of Chiefs of Police and National Sexual Violence Resource Center.
Participants attended training focused on engaging bystanders to intervene to prevent sexual assault; working with the military and reporting restrictions; alcohol facilitated sexual assault; victims of violence in the virtual world; and the influence of media and public opinion on high-profile sexual assault cases.
“This conference provided an amazing amount of resources and ideas for our organization, and being part of such a large group working together for a common purpose is a great way to stay motivated and focused on goals for our own community,” Patterson said.
YWCA Crisis Center provides emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Along with the 24-hour Crisis Line, the Crisis Center also provides emergency food and clothing, counseling, court advocates, supervised visitation and community education. Stong named Wachovia
VP for investments
Wachovia Securities has named Greg Stong vice president-investments. He is a financial adviser in the firm’s Enid office.
A graduate of South-western Okla-homa State Univer-sity, Stong has been a financial adviser for 16 years. He joined Wachovia Securities in 1996.
Stong is a member of Enid Noon AMBUCS and St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. He earned the Certified Financial Planner designation in 2007. He has lived in Enid with his wife, Linda, since 1993.

Wallace selected
to UHS council
Rick Wallace, St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center CEO, was selected to the Chair-man’s Council for Univer-sal Health Services, Inc. for 2007.
This award is given to select CEOs within the company who have demonstrated significant achievements during the year, not only reaching their facility’s goals but making contributions over and above to the company and the community.
Allan Miller, president and CEO of UHS, presented the award to Wallace at the annual management conference.
“Rick has demonstrated creativity in solving issues within facility operations and in medical staff development as well as his ability to exemplify the qualities and skills that make him a recipient of the Chairman’s Council for 2007,” Miller said.
Enid Suddenlink manager
is finalist for award
Suddenlink Oklahoma-Arkansas General Sales Manager Mike Henderson, based in Enid, is a finalist for a Cable Advertising Bureau award.
He is one of five finalists in the national CAB’s Sales Manager of the Year category.
Winners will be announced May 19 at the annual Cable Advertising Awards ceremony in New Orleans.
Schmidt earns Reinke
technician honor
Harold Schmidt, of H&L Irrigation, Ringwood, has earned the Proven Leaders in Unmat-ched Service (PLUS) Certified Techni-cian award from Reinke Manufacturing, Inc., a manufacturer of mechanized irrigation systems.
The award, which has been received by only a handful of service technicians in the Reinke service network, is one of the most elite designations awarded by the company.
“Being recognized as a PLUS Certified Technician is quite a remarkable accomplishment,” said Todd Merryman, service manager for Reinke Manufacturing.
Schmidt qualified for the honor during a recent training session at Reinke headquarters in Deshler, Neb. The program consists of a series of service-training classes and tests. Schmidt received the award by completing all of his classes.
