Troy, Angie Lippard win at state convention



Enid’s Troy and Angie Lippard, of United Country Lippard Auction-eers Inc., attended Okla-homa State Auction-eers Conven-tion Feb. 2-3.

They were awarded first place in the Best Full Color Auction Brochure category.

The convention offered continued education classes for real estate. National Auctioneers Convention will be in July in Nashville, Tenn.







Parker named business leader of the year



Brad Parker, of Parker Pest Control Inc., is a recipient of the 2008 Outstanding Business Leader of the Year for the North Central Area.

Lt. Gov. Jari Askins presented the award. He was honored on Workforce Oklahoma Day at the state Capitol Feb. 14.

Parker, of Ponca City, has worked in the pest control business since he was 12 years old. Parker Pest Control has been in business since 1963,and the company bought Craig Pest Control of Enid in 1978. Parker has offices in Enid, Oklahoma City, Tulsa, Ponca City and Wichita, Kan. A commercial division was established in Los Angeles about 12 years ago.

Parker believes in community responsibility and is active in all communities where the business operates. He has held several offices of National Pest Management Association. He is a member of Greater Enid Chamber of Commerce and donates to United Way.







Continental receives health award



Continental Resources Inc. recently was awarded the Oklahoma Certified Healthy Business Certificate of Merit by the Oklahoma Turning Point Council.

The program seeks to recognize businesses working to improve Oklahoma’s health and wellness opportunities for their employees.

Businesses are evaluated in a number of different areas, including health screenings, preventive programs, education materials, nutrition, physical activities, employee health insurance, employee assistance programs, community support programs, health-related policies and management support of programs.







Horton is named Blue Dolphin CMA of the Year



Patricia Horton was awarded CMA of the Year for 2007 for the Blue Dolphin Corp., The Living Center in Enid.

Horton has been in long-term care for 14 years. She worked as a CNA, then became a CMA after a year. Not only does Horton give medications to residents at The Living Center, she is certified to do breathing treatments, wound care and tube feedings. She also is responsible for the facility’s medical records.







Pazzo joins sales staff at Curttright Honda



Dale Pazzo has joined the sales staff of Curttright Honda.

Pazzo brings more than 25 years of automotive sales experience to Curtt-right. He has won several local and national awards for achievement in the automotive industry.

Pazzo was born in Enid and, along with his wife, Mary, has raised two daughters.

He is a volunteer reserve deputy for Garfield County Sheriff’s Office and a storm spotter for Garfield County Emergency Management. He is a two-time past president of Briggs Evening Lions Club.







YWCA employees attend crime conference



Three Enid YWCA Crisis Center employees — Kayte Anton, Melissa Hampton and Juanita Rojas — recently attended the third annual Conference on Crimes Against Women Feb. 11-13 in Dallas.

Presented by the Dallas Police Department and Genesis Women’s Shelter, the conference provided information on best practices and training for law enforcement, prosecuting attorneys, victim advocates and forensic medical professionals. Collaborating agencies at the conference were Federal Bureau of Investigation, Texas Rangers, Secret Service and the Office of Victims of Crime.

Topics covered during workshops included serial sexual assault and offender characteristics, victims and the impact of trauma, domestic violence support networks, self-defense techniques, high-tech stalking, confidentiality and data sharing issues, acquaintance rape, human trafficking and sexual assault of the disabled.

“The conference provided a great opportunity to look at family violence from a law enforcement perspective,” Anton said. “The best workshop I attended focused on bridging the gap between police officers and victim advocates. It allowed both sides to ask questions, be honest with one another and look at ways we can work as a team to end violence against women.”

YWCA Crisis Center provides emergency shelter for victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Along with the 24-hour Crisis Line, the center also provides counseling, court advocates, supervised visitation and parenting education classes.

Retirement reception Friday for CNB’s Stover



Mary Ann Stover will retire Friday from Central National Bank of Enid.

She has served as secretary to the CNB board of directors and as executive secretary for Central Service Corp. since April 25, 1983.

A reception in her honor will be 1-3:30 p.m. Friday in the bank’s second floor employee lounge, 324 W. Broadway. It is open to the public.

“Mary Ann has been a true asset to the bank for the last 25 years, and I appreciate her contributions to our success,” said R.S. Baker Jr., president and CEO. “She has always been dedicated in her responsibilities and diligent in providing support in the bank’s many endeavors. Mary Ann’s friendly manner and commitment to excellence will be missed by all of us here.”

Stover was born in Enid and grew up in the Carrier/Goltry communities. Her banking career began in 1960, the day after she graduated from high school, at First State Bank in Goltry. She held various positions at Security National Bank 1967 to 1981. She was employed at Sundance Energy 1981 to 1983, at which time she joined Central National Bank. On Jan. 1, 1987, she was promoted to officer and has since served in the capacity of assistant cashier, executive secretary and secretary to the board.

She was a member of AM Too AMBUCS. She and her husband, George, are members of First United Methodist Church in Enid, and between them have six children, 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Stover said she plans to relax, enjoy vacations with her husband and spend time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.







Eilrich to retire Fridayfrom Liberty Federal



A retirement reception Mary Eilrich has been scheduled for Friday at Liberty Federal Savings Bank, 401 W. Broad-way.

She began her career in banking in 1974 at Community Bank in Enid and has worked at a number of financial institutions over the years. She has provided lending and other services to customers at Liberty Federal for 15 years.

The retirement tea will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday in the meeting room located on the second floor at the main office, 401 West Broadway.
