— Velma Nadine Blecha will celebrate her 90th birthday Thursday, Aug. 23. Cards may be sent to 3102 West Maine, Enid, OK 73703.

Velma was born Aug. 23, 1922, in Manchester, Okla., the daughter of Will and Hazel Blecha.

She attended Manchester schools, graduating with the class of 1940. She continues to attend her school reunion every year.

Nadine married Sgt. John Hatfield in 1941. He was stationed with the Army Air Corps in Denver, Colo.

Nadine worked as a “Rosie the Riveter,” building B29 airplanes for Boeing Aircraft in Wichita, Kan., during the war from 1943 to 1945.

She married Felix Lenox in 1972. They owned and operated the Lenox Drive In on North Grand for 39 years, before he died.

She is a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church.

Her children are Jack, Sharon, Janice, Jonette, Jerry and Felix Jr. She has six granddaughters, three great-grandsons and two great-great-grandsons.
