Margery Lamb Sharkey will celebrate her 90th birthday with a come-and-go reception 2-4 p.m. Oct. 1 at The Arbors Assisted Living Center, 4502 W. Randolph, Enid, OK 73703, where cards also may be sent.
Margery was born Oct. 1, 1923, on a farm outside of Renfrow, the only child of James Harry and Frances (Carr) Lamb.
She is a 1941 graduate of Tonkawa Junior College.
During World War II, Margery went to Chicago, where she attended modeling school and also worked at International Harvester.
After World War II, she married Harold Lee Sharkey Jan. 8, 1946. They farmed and ranched in the Hillsdale and Medford area for 35 years. He died June 1, 1981.
Following his death, she moved to Stillwater and lived there for 20 years to be close to her daughter, Janice. She returned to Enid in 2003, moving to The Arbors on Nov. 28, 2012.
Her children are Janice Williams of Oklahoma City, and Rita Bode and husband Sunny of Ames. She has three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
