Frances L. Harris Kehnemund will celebrate her 90th birthday with a come-and-go reception for family and friends from 2:30-4:30 p.m. Saturday at Zion Lutheran Church, Lahoma.
Frances was born Oct. 30, 1923, in Enid, the daughter of Armene Butts Harris and Grant Carlton Harris Sr.
She is a 1941 graduate of Perry High School and a 1942 graduate of Enid Business College.
She worked at Long Bell Lumber Co., Enid Production Credit Association, Checker Transit Co. and Garfield County Register of Deeds. She also worked several places in Amarillo, Texas, while living there.
She and Edgar “Sike” Kehnemund were married in 1953. They lived and farmed north of Lahoma for 33 years and owned and operated Sike’s Laundry & Dry Cleaners.
She is a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Lahoma, and an associate member of Redeemer Lutheran Church in Enid. She was involved in various organizations in both churches. She volunteered at Integris Bass Baptist Health Center for 15 years, and was a member of the Tuesday Night Knitting Rippers, making lap robes for Hospice.
Her children are Mark and Leasa Kehnemund, Richmond, Texas, and Verie Wilson and fiancee Edwin Layman of Enid. She has three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
