Robert “Bob” DeBoard will celebrate his 80th birthday with family and friends Sunday.
Bob was born in Covington, the son of Paul and Sadie DeBoard.
He is a 1951 graduate of Covington High School, a 1952 graduate of Enid Business College and a 1962 graduate of Oklahoma State University, with a degree in accounting, passing his CPA exam in 1963.
After graduation, he worked for Arthur Andersen in Tulsa and then for Gulf/Chevron for 24 years, living in Tulsa, Atlanta and Houston.
He served in the armed forces from 1953 to 1955, stationed in Fort Smith, Ark., Indianapolis, Ind., and Munich, Germany.
Bob and Evelyn Johnson were married Aug. 22, 1953, at Hunter Christian Church. They currently live at 1330 Meredith Dr., Allen, Texas, where he is a member of First Baptist Church of Allen.
His children are Brent DeBoard and wife Cindy of Bartlett, Tenn., Jana VanVorhis and husband Doug of Plano, Texas, and Amy Sutton and husband Craig of Parker, Texas. He has nine grandchildren and one great-grandson.
