— Opal Maxine Kimmell will celebrate her 80th birthday with a reception for family and friends 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Covington Fire Station in Covington. She request no gifts.

Opal was born July 22, 1933, the daughter of Alva and Katie Spillman. She grew up in the Sinclair oil field, graduating from Covington High School.

She married Ansil Kimmell Oct. 21, 1952.

Her children are Linda Ross and husband David of Broken Arrow, Melvin Kimmell and wife Cathy of Garber, and Darryl Kimmell and wife Mara Jo of Pond Creek. She has nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
