McAfee, 80

Donald W. McAfee will celebrate his 80th birthday with a reception for family and friends Saturday, March 2, at Simpson’s Old Time Museum, 207 E. Randolph. Western wear is appropriate and encouraged. Cards may be sent to 1730 Centennial Court, Enid, OK 73703. He request no gifts.

Don was born March 5, 1933, in Lewistown, Mo., to Lawrence W. and Myrle Brace McAfee.

After graduating from Lewistown High School, he attended Kirksville State College (now Truman University) for four years. He then entered the Army, being stationed in Albuquerque, N.M., and Fort Monmouth, N.J.

Following his discharge he taught school for two years, then worked in union negotiations and human resource services in Iowa and Oklahoma, before moving to Enid in 1976, where he worked for George E. Failing Co. as human resource director, until he retired in 1998.
