Josephine C. Shellady will celebrate her 80th birthday with a come-and-go reception for family and friends 1-5 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 4, 2014, at the Youth Building on the Garfield County Fairgrounds. Cards may be sent to 2009 East Locust, Enid, OK 73701. She requests no gifts.
Josephine was born Jan. 4, 1934, in Stillwater, Okla., the daughter of Tim and Dovie Flora.
She attended Glencoe High School.
She and Ralph H. Shellady were married Aug. 6, 1951. He died in November 1989.
She worked at Newman’s Department Store in Enid from 1967 to 1987; Cross Roads Counseling for 10 years; and began working for Luckinbill Inc. on Sept. 14, 2001, where she continues to work part-time.
Josephine enjoys going to the senior dances and visiting with family and friends. She is a member of Central Christian Church.
Her children are Cathy Jo Anderson and husband Larry of Hunter; the late Ralph H. Shelladay and wife Kathy Burdick of Enid; Tammy L. McCloskey and husband Joe of Clearwater, Kan. She has six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
