Waverley Historic director commends participants

The success of Waverley’s Homes Tour on Sunday, April 13 was due to total support received from the Enid community. Sunday, members of the Enid Community helped Waverley raise $2,588 for sidewalk repairs. “Thank you Enid.”
The tour was made possible with four homeowners, who graciously volunteered to show their homes: Raymond and Diane Dyess, Joe and Marit Watson, Linda Presa and Melanie Sanderson and Pace and Craig Chambers. As one home dropped out of the tour due to unforeseen circumstances, the Dyess family (who have their home listed for sale) agreed to include their landmark home in the Waverley Tour.
Events need publicity and the Waverley Homes Tour was no different. Enid News & Eagle and PEGASYS both provided continued publicity to draw attention to the tour. Their publicity drew 259 attendees to the tour (increasing attendance from previous tours by 116 percent.) Four florists, Enid Floral, Oklahoma Floral, Huffman Floral, and Uptown Florist, enhanced the décor of the tour homes by placing beautiful floral arrangements on display during the tour.
Nine local businesses gave attendees the opportunity to win door prizes and a raffle item (Applebee’s, Chili’s, C.M. Miller, Marilyn K’s, Pastime’s, Panevino, Starbucks, The Gift Box, and Serendipity).
Twenty-three volunteer hostesses were on hand to answer questions about the history of the historic homes. Then 259 local residents came out for the tour. Wow!
The Waverley Historic Homes Tour was a success and Waverley appreciated the opportunity to share a bit of Enid’s rich history related to Enid’s historic homes. Waverley is so blessed to be the true recipient of Enid’s community support.
