Three Enid nonprofit organizations received $5,000 each Saturday evening at the first Oklahoma Nonprofit Excellence (ONE) Awards ceremony in Tulsa.
Denny Price Family YMCA was a finalist in the sports and recreation category, Youth and Family Services of North Central Oklahoma in youth development and Enid Community Clinic in community health services.
Other categories included arts and humanities, community, education, health services, self-sufficiency and seniors.
The top award went to Regional Food Bank of Oklahoma, which was awarded $10,000.
Category winners each received $7,500. In total, $160,000 was awarded to 29 nonprofit agencies statewide.
The Oklahoma Center for Nonprofits created the ONE awards with a dual purpose: to recognize outstanding nonprofits and to increase statewide awareness of the role nonprofits play.
