ENID, Okla. —
Mr. and Mrs. Linden A. Baker celebrated their 40th anniversary Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012, during a surprise celebration at Central Christian Church, Enid, with family and friends. The couple recently returned from a driving tour of the U.S. Pacific Northwest that included an Alaskan cruise. The cruise included 15 other couples that were friends.
Lindy Baker and Connie Corley, Enid High School sweethearts, were married Aug. 12, 1972, at Central Christian Church, Enid, with the Rev. Lloyd Lambert officiating. The couple were attended by Danny Baker and Charlene Corley.
After working in Oklahoma City and Dallas, the couple returned to Enid and together started Baker Insurance Agency in 1981, which later became Baker-Harris Insurance Agency. The couple retired from the insurance business in 2008, and now farm family land in Garfield and Grant counties. They are members of Central Christian Church. Both are 1968 graduates of Enid High School and graduates of Oklahoma State University.
The Bakers actively are involved in Corvettes of Enid Car Club, where Lindy has served as president for several years and Connie “First Lady.”
They have one son, Robert A. Baker, of Fayetteville, Ark.
