On Wednesday, May 6, 1953, at 2:30 p.m., Betty Jo Tice, daughter of John and Elizabeth Tice, and Pvt. Carl Blunk, son of George and Bernadine Blunk, were united in marriage in a ceremony performed by the Rev. Maurice L. Evans at First Christian Church of Okeene, Okla. Attending the couple were Roy and June Winkleman.
Carl was serving in the United States Armed Forces and was sent to Korea after their wedding.
When he returned home in 1955, they moved from Okeene to Enid, where he worked at Morris Food Market and later for the Postal Service in Enid for 30 years. After he retired from the Postal Service, they owned and operated the B&B Enterprise, retiring in 1989.
Betty Jo worked at Waller Junior High School cafeteria and then for the S&H Green Stamp Store.
Their children are Ken and Peggy Blunk, Scott and Serena Blunk and Steve Blunk, all of Enid. They have three grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
