Enid News and Eagle

— Mr. and Mrs. Bob Bickerstaff will celebrate their 70th anniversary with a family dinner. Cards may be sent to 1326 N. Davis, Enid, OK 73701. Bob Bickerstaff and Vivian Bridges were married Sept. 12, 1943, at First Baptist Church in Muskogee. The Rev. W.A. Criswell officiated. Bob served in the Army with the 252nd Ordinance Co. from 1940-1945, European Theatre, Normandy Beach D-Day plus-one. He participated in the Honor Flight for World War II veterans held June 5 in Washington, D.C. He was accompanied by his son, Bill, also a veteran. He worked 18 years as a carpenter and started Bickerstaff Construction in 1963. He is active in the Men’s Garden Club and Garfield County Crimestoppers. They are active members of Bible Baptist Church since 1946, where they are Sunday school group captains and Bob is a deacon and still sings in the choir. There children are Alice and Rod Ylitalo, Dan and Pam Bickerstaff and Bill and Tammy Bickerstaff, all of Enid, and Kristy and Mike Haws, Carrier. They have 11 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
