— Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Bolz will celebrate their 60th anniversary with a come-and go reception for family and friends 2-4 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2013, at First United Methodist Church, Covington. Cards may be sent C/O Keith Bolz P.O. Box 278, Covington, OK 73730.

Herbert Bolz and Zoe Roach were married April 2, 1953, in Texarkana, Ark.

Herbert enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1951, and met Zoe while stationed at Red River Arsenal, Texarkana, Texas.

He worked 21 years for Long’s John Deere in Garber, followed by owning a successful Covington Automotive for 20 years in his hometown. He belongs to American Legion Post 190, VFW Post 15037 and is a lifetime member of NRA.

Zoe successfully owned and operated Zoe’s Beauty Shoppe in Covington for 35 years. She is a member of Covington Home and School OSU Extension Group.

The couple have been enjoying retired life in recent years that has included gardening, traveling and being involved in many local community events. Both belong to United Methodist Church and Covington Historical Society.  

Their children are Keith and Cindie Bolz and Marc and Marietta Bolz, all of Covington, and Annette and David Booker of Tulsa. They have six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
