Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Leo Solomon Sr. will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a vow renewal ceremony at 2 p.m. Feb. 2, 2013, at The Refreshing Campus in Oklahoma City. Cards may be sent to 5716 S. Harvey Ct., Oklahoma City, OK 73109.
Anthony Leo Solomon Sr. and Palmor Jean Mitchell were married Feb. 1, 1963, at the home of the bride’s parents in Enid.
Leo served six years in the Army Reserve. He has worked for Hackney Iron and Steel, was one of the first black officers hired at Enid Police Department, and was an engineer for the Frisco Railroad.
Jean worked at St. Mary’s Regional Medical Center, Greenbrier Nursing Home, and at a health center in Hutchinson, Kan.
They retired as owner/operators of ALS Properties, a rental property business in Kansas, in 2002, after 12 years of service.
They formerly were members of Antioch COGIC in Enid and First Missionary Baptist Church, and currently are members of The Refreshing.
Their children are Vonzell Solomon, Anthony Solomon II and Danyelle Amoakubene. They have 19 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
