Mr. and Mrs. James Cook will celebrate their 50th anniversary with a reception for family and friends at 6 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 21, 2013, at Convention Hall.
James Cook and Barbara Wissing met at a dance in Wisconsin and were married Dec. 21, 1963, at Gospel Lutheran Church in Milwaukee, Wis.
James served with the U.S. Navy from 1957 to 1964. He worked 25 years as an electrician for GM Auto Factory in Detroit, Mich.
Barbara is a homemaker and worked for an eye doctor in Monroe, Mich., for four years.
They are members of Wesley Cedar Ridge Church, Enid.
Their children are Randy and Chick Cook of Enid. They have four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
