Waukomis FFA members compete

ENID, Okla. — Waukomis FFA members attended the Autry Technology Center and Northern Oklahoma College FFA interscholastic contests this past month.

At the Autry Tech contest, members competed in animal science and welding. The quiz bowl team consisted of Brittany Bingham, Kysha Eck, Shae Roberts and Blaise Newman.

The welding team consisted of Jess Click, Brendan McCartney and Devin Coffey. Both teams placed third.

At the NOC contest, in the agronomy novice division the team placed first out of seven teams. Tabor Treanor placed first individually, and Tyler Nylander placed third. Makayla Slagle and Brayden Wadman also competed on the first-place team.

The dairy foods team, which consisted of Makenzie Metcalfe, Quinn Newman and Zack Prince, placed third out of 13 teams.

Other upcoming events for Waukomis FFA are the Sooner Celebration dinner and auction Feb. 18, the county stock show March 1-2, the labor auction March 4 and the Northwest District Junior Livestock Show March 6-10.
