ENID, Okla. —
Fairview FFA officers recently participated in the 2013 Oklahoma Chapter Officer Leadership Training Conference at the Enid Events Center.
The eight state FFA officers planned and conducted this year’s conference based on the theme “Multiply Your Numbers, Your Involvement, Your Success.” Elected officers from each of the 61 high school FFA chapters in the northwest district attended leadership training designed to equip them with tools for membership recruitment and retention.
“We have nearly 25,000 FFA members in Oklahoma,” said Steven Vekony, state FFA president. “That’s great. However, I wish we could say we have 25,000 active members. That should be our goal.”
Officers attending from the Fairview chapter were: Jennifer Bedwell, president; Lindsay Pembrook, vice president; Alli Siler, secretary; Jaden Dillard, treasurer; Holly Heinrichs, reporter; Ashley Tucker, sentinel; Brandon Case, historian; Audrey Dunlap, parliamentarian; Rachael Hopkins, chaplain; and Lade Spradlin, student council representative.
FFA is an integral part of the agricultural education division of the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education. There are 24,598 Oklahoma FFA members in 352 high schools statewide.
