Garber FFA students compete, place in speech contests

ENID, Okla. — Garber FFA members participated in the Enid P.I. speech contest, competing against other schools for a qualifying spot for districts.

The winners qualified by placing in the top two speakers. Those who went to districts then qualified for state by placing in the top two.

Results from the three competitions were,

• P.I. — Tyler Schnaithman, ag policy, first, plant science, first, and extemporaneous, first; Braden Schovanec, ag science, first; Jarred Strate, natural resources, first; Kellan Hostetler, plant science, second, and extemporaneous, fourth; Riley Pearce, animal science, third; Jessica Cinnamon, eighth- through 10th-grade, first; Cameron Cinnamon, creed, second; Baylee Mount, creed, participant; Madison Deeds, eighth-grade opportunities, fifth; and Halie Schovanec, eighth-grade opportunities, first.

• District — Tyler Schnaithman, ag policy, first, plant science, first, extemporaneous, first; Braden Schovanec, ag science, first; Jarred Strate, natural resources; Kellan Hostetler, plant science; Jessica Cinnamon, eighth- through 10th; Cameron Cinnamon, creed, fifth; and Halie Schovanec, eighth-grade opportunities, third

• State — Tyler Schnaithman, ag policy, first, plant science, first, extemporaneous, first; and Braden Schovanec, ag science.

Schnaithman qualified for nationals in extemporaneous and plant science. He also wasthe overall public speaking champion.
