ENID, Okla. —
Woods County Oklahoma Coopearative Extension Service office has rescheduled the gardening meeting canceled during the snow storm earlier this month.
The meeting will be 5:30 p.m. March 4 at Northwest Technology Center, 1801 S. 11th, Alva. Light snacks will be provided at the program.
There will be information available for both the novice and experienced gardener. The first session of the evening will focus on “Planning Your 2014 Garden.” Topics will include soil fertility issues, proper irrigation, planting materials, proper transplant techniques and planting dates.
Session two will address topics related to “Making Your Garden More Productive,” including information on using integrated pest management techniques to control insects and disease, as well as encouraging pollinators to visit your garden.
Instructor for the seminar will be Jeff Bedwell, Oklahoma Cooperative Extension Service ag educator for Major County.
