4-H’ers place in wardrobe contest

ENID, Okla. — Garfield County 4-H Impressive Dress contest was held recently at the Garfield County Oklahoma Cooperative Exte-nsion office.  

The contest is designed to help 4-H members learn to select garments suitable for specific occasions, build a clothing wardrobe that is suitable to individual lifestyle and needs, and to recognize and wear properly fitted clothes.

Members are asked questions on how the garments fit into their wardrobe and on care and cleaning of their garments.

Placings in the beginning division were:

Girls active/casual wear — Champion, Natalie Haggard, Kremlin-Hillsdale; reserve champion, Aliya Choitz, Drummond.  Receiving a blue ribbon was Elizabeth Derouen, Pioneer-Pleasant Vale.

Girls dress wear — Champion, Elizabeth Derouen, Pioneer-Pleasant Vale; reserve champion, Madison Postier, Pioneer-Pleasant Vale. Others participating and receiving blue ribbons were Aliya Choitz, Drummond, and Natalie Haggard, Kremlin-Hillsdale.

Girls overall beginning grand champion was Elizabeth Derouen, Pioneer-Pleasant Vale. Girls overall beginning co-reserve champions were Aliya Choitz, Drummond, and Natalie Haggard, Kremlin-Hillsdale.

In the intermediate division, placings were:

Girls active/casual wear — Champion ribbon went to Morgan Messall of Drummond. Reserve champion ribbon went to Adelee Dominic of Enid Roadrunners.

Girls dress wear — Champion ribbon went to Alexis Peeper of Drummond.

Girls formal wear — Champion ribbon went to Alexis Peeper of Drummond. Reserve champion ribbon went to Adelee Dominic of Enid Roadrunners.

Overall Girls intermediate grand champion was Alexis Peeper of Drummond. Overall girls intermediate reserve grand champion was Adelee Dominic of Enid Roadrunners.

In the advanced boys division, Carter Postier, Pioneer-Pleasant Vale, received the champion ribbon in dress wear and was named overall boys grand champion.
