4-H’ers attend Denver
Western National Roundup
A group of Oklahoma 4-Her’s took part in the 88th Denver Western National Roundup. Brian Highfill, of Chisholm 4-H, and Dani Comstock, of Pioneer-PleasantVale 4-H, were delegates from Garfield County.
Denver Western Roundup provided opportunities to take part in social and educational programs, said Cindy Conner, Garfield County 4-H youth development educator.
“Each year 4-Her’s travel to Denver to take part in hands-on learning experiences and workshops,” Conner said. “They also have the opportunity to develop greater leadership skills, discover new career ideas as well as take part in citizenship and community services.”
Dele-gates broke into groups for a variety of educational and fun workshops with topics including “Sparking the Leader In You,” “GPS Technology,” “Steps to Success,” “Re-energize Your Organi-zation” and “How to L.I.V.E Like a Real Leader.”
The group also had the opportunity to take part in an evening of “Xtreme Colorado,” which featured a variety of virtual simulators for bobsledding, kayaking, golf and hang gliding.
Highfill is the son of Greg and Misty Highfill, of North Enid, and Comstock is the daughter of Jack and Jerri Comstock, of Enid.
